You don't need to worry about is the sign of the electrodes.
The designation of (+) and (-) refer to the attraction of cations to the + labeled pole and the anions to the - labeled pole. This is no longer part of the AP Chem curriculum.
This is an older demonstration. It's a very hazardous experiment because of the lead, bromine and chlorine fumes. It's unlikely that this experiment would be would be done today.
Note it takes quite a bit electricity to make this very small amount of metal. It likely took at least an hour of electrolysis to get this small sample of lead using the 2 amps of current. The term reduction was originally a reference to the smaller volume of metal that you get from a larger volume of ore.
